Thanks guys, Weekend at Ruapena went pretty good, apart from getting taken out on the first corner in the final race. Never mind though, thats racing! We left Christchurch yesterday morning at 7am and didn't get home till 11pm last night, so it was a very long trip. Thanks for the support, it means a lot.

Hey Julia Good to see you getting further up the field your doing great.
How is you Karting going. What class are you racing in?
Im moving up into the 100cc yamaha lights next year from junior restricted. I dont have a Kart at the moment as I sold my old one last year. Im still looking for either a decent 2nd hand chassis or a new one. Have you got any recommondations on what chassis you think are better than others it would be good to get another oppinion on it.

Hi Andrew, Thats cool you are going to be in the lights class, thats the same class I race in, so might be racing against ya in the future! How old are you? Well I race a top kart, it isn't the flashest kart around, and is about 3-4 years old, but still goes pretty good. I won the hamilton Points series in it, so can't be too bad of a kart. Intrepids seem to be pretty popular at the moment, but they are fairly expensive. I think any kart can go well if you set it up right. Yeh this season in the V8's is going quite well so far, I'm slowly moving my way further up the field, Its sure hard work I tell ya, especially with the new aussie drivers this year! So what town do you live in? & do you come to any of the meetings?

Hey Julia, congratalations on the hamilton points series. Sounds like you are going preaty well with you your kart. Most people dad and i have talked to said basically the same thing as you that most can go preaty well if set up allright. Im not in to much hurry to get a kart just yet as i dont think you are alowed in the lights class untill you are 15, and im not turning 15 until june.
We live in timaru and im out at levels as much as i can be. Ill more then likely be going to your V8 meeting in januray.

Hey Julia I was just wondering what the writing on the left rear window on your car says. I was reading that NZ motorsport guide thing today with the thing on yourself and haydn mackenzie. Those overalls of yours are preaty choice. is that the inside of your car on i think its page 38 im preaty sure it is. If it is, doesnt the sun shine of the silver dash and get in your eyes when your racing. I just thought that would be a bit of a pain.

Hey Ricki, yes the womens crew shirts only come in size small unfortunately when we got them from overseas thats the only size they gave us, and we probably wont be getting any more, but all the screen printed tshirt come in any size.

Theres always the screen printed tshirts? they come in whatever size you want. They have been selling really well actually, had to get some more made to take with us down south. Yeh sure you can drive my V8, i dont mind haha. Dad might thought Thats good you had a great xmas, mine was pretty good too. I've just finished my graphic design degree, after 4 long years! So im on holiday at the moment, and looking for jobs around here!

Hey Julia, congratulations on doing your degree 4 years is a long time, well done. When do you leave for invercargill, if you havent already gone? Does your team travel together or do you just make your own way to meetings? I hope you continue to work your way through the field in the next couple of weekends and nothing to major goes wrong for your team. it will be good if it doesnt rain in timaru when you are here, it would make your job easier if it stays fine. Thanks Andrew, Yes 4 years is a very long time! But is worth it in the long run. Our team leaves for invercargill this Wednesay at 3am in the morning, ha, very early, and will be a long drive. We hope to stay at Timaru wednesday night, then carry on to invercargill Thursday morning. Our whole team goes with us, we have our truck, which holds up to about 9 people and another little Suzuki Elf full of parts etc as well. Sure hope it doesnt rain! Not too fond of the rain, but whatever happens It will be fun anyway. Well take care

hey julia im a big fan prehaps your no#1 fan even. i go to every meeting of yours i can, just seeing you fly the flag for all us chicks that have a passion for motor sport is so cool. im glad that you are starting to give the guys a hurry up you go girl. i used to race a go kart a omega wizard yamaha kt100 but had a little crash and mum and dad decided it was to dangerous and had to sell it much to my disgust, oh well im going to build up a ford anglia and race in a team with my uncle he races the white no#12 ford anglia he was racing at timaru with you on the 21st and 22nd he raced in the pre65 class north verse south challenge, after i have been in that class for a while i slowly want 2 move up the motorsport ladder and hope to be racing a V8 one day

Thanks Danielle for your support, It means alot to me. Thats no good your not doing karts any more, I race in the KT100 lights class still, just do club days and just recently the hamiltons points series which I won. Karts is very good to start out in before moving up to racing cars. Yes it can be dangerous at times, but so can a lot of things. If motorsport is what you are really passionate about, then you go girl! It would be great to see more girls get into the sport.

Hey julia. I didnt race my uncle did he broke his lap time at ruapuna down from a 1.57.6 to a 1.49.3 so i am really pleased. I am going to build my car up very soon i have a roll cage and a shell ready for a motor and gear box and some paint white with pink racing stripes up the center of the car it should look good when finished.

ive got this relay 4 life thing on in febuary and im doin it with youth council and our theme is race car drivers.now wot im askin is would i plz be able paint my cardboard car that im going to be usin (strapd on2 me lol) be a replica of yours?? we will be wawkn or runnin around a relay trak thing 4 it so we thort cardboard cars would be kewl.

Hey Ricki, thats no good about your hair lol. I dont think my new job would let me die my hair funny colours any more lol, I have to wear a flash uniform, skirt,shirt and vest, and black shoes etc, its pretty strict lol, had to take my tongue ring out too and only allowed to earings in each ear, and I had about 4 lol.
Its going good though, really busy, I design all the magazines for all the houses/properties etc, and I constantly got 100 things to do at once ,lol. Day goes fast thats for sure!
That would be cool if you came to pukekohe, Id give ya a job lol.

Hey Danielle, how was your week? Mine was flat out with my new job. Good though! I design all the apparel, posters, stickers and car myself, as I am a qualified graphic designer, so I take care of all that side of things.
If you have any suggestions on what I should get made next, let me know, because I'm always looking for more ways to improve.
I'm thinking of making a GIRL TORQUE Range - Girl Torque my new label, and getting T-Shirts, hats etc with that written on, and maybe some cool slogans on the back? Got any good ones in mind let me know-

im real happy my car is on the go.
i have a motor for my race car i have had so much help with it.
hey i just thought would it be ok with you if i could put one of your GIRL TORQUE stickers on my race car.
Im hoping to be the first girl out since 10 years ago it should be so cool.
Give the guys a run for there money they have all told me if i start beating them they are packing up and going home lol.
I got it from a friend its a Ford Anglia im going to race in pre-65 it was one of the cars in the crash at Manfield my friend is building a new one and gave me his old one.
im so excited about It all.
What is it like in a car racing for the first time?
i have raced karts but it looks so much diffrent.
